The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) mandates strict guidelines for food labeling and packaging, especially for packaged and processed foods. These regulations require the declaration of allergens on product labels if the food contains ingredients such as gluten (from wheat, rye, barley, oats, spelt, or hybrid strains), crustaceans, milk and dairy products, eggs, fish, peanuts, tree nuts, soy, or sulphites exceeding 10 mg.
